WWE 2010 Fatal 4 Way DVD

WWE Championship Fatal 4-Way Match

Call it jealousy, envy or just primal instinct. For whatever reason, on any given day, WWE Champion John Cena has a bull’s-eye painted squarely on his back. And most every Superstar in WWE is busy stalking The Champ with a quiver of poison-tipped arrows.

Usually, Cena must only escape the projectiles of a solitary opponent. At Fatal 4-Way, however, The Champ will be caught in the crossfire of three other warriors: Edge, Randy Orton and Sheamus. Cena, as king of the mountain, will be forced to dodge more than his share of fire, but each Superstar will also have their own crosshairs to bear – and elude.

While Sheamus is the least experienced of the combatants, The Celtic Warrior has already logged a brutal history with both Cena and Orton. The great unknown in the bout appears to be how he and Edge will match up – brute force against intense cunning. The other competitors have taken years to size up their opponents’ strengths and weaknesses, making victory for any of these men all that more elusive, although any can win as long as they secure the first pin.

World Heavyweight Championship Fatal 4-Way Match

At WWE Fatal 4-Way, World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger will attempt to defend his illustrious title against three former World Champions – CM Punk, Big Show and Rey Mysterio – in an explosive Fatal 4-Way main event. And in a match where bedlam will rule, the four elite SmackDown Superstars will draw their advantage from four completely different sources.

At WWE’s innovative new pay-per-view, the odds will be stacked against Jack Swagger retaining his World Title before the bell even rings. According to the rules of a Fatal 4-Way Match, not only will all four Superstars be battling at the same time, but any one of them can pin any other Superstar to capture a championship victory.

And, adding fuel to the fire is an angry Kane, who is seeking vengeance for his injured brother, The Undertaker. Though The Phenom originally qualified for the fourth spot in the match – a brutal attack by an unknown assailant left The Demon of Death Valley in a vegetative state, unable to compete. On the final SmackDown before the pay-per-view, The Big Red Monster vowed “This Sunday will be fatal night for the guilty party.” (WATCH)

Regardless of the odds, “The All-American American” has claimed that he is the “odds on favorite” in any competition he is involved in. Despite his rocky road since cashing in his WrestleMania Money in the Bank opportunity, the outspoken champion’s success at keeping his “greatest trophy” securely around his waist is unquestionable. His biggest advantage lays in his steadfast determination to hold on to the World Title at any cost. And against the awesome odds he will face at Fatal 4-Way, he will have to pull out every trick in the book.

After Swagger got himself disqualified in his Over the Limit World Championship Match with Big Show, The World’s Largest Athlete presents the textbook definition of an angry giant threat. His advantage in the Fatal 4-Way stems from his enormous size, which manifests itself in his most dangerous weapon, the knockout punch. The rage that drives the gigantic Superstar once the bell rings will make overcoming Big Show an extremely tall order.

CM Punk lost his hair at Over the Limit, and with it, the symbol of his Straight Edge “purity.” If he could once again become the Straight Edge World Heavyweight Champion, the freshly masked “savior” would provide himself with a new symbol to carry forth as the head of the S.E.S. Now that he has qualified for Fatal 4-Way by defeating Kane – the very Superstar that helped make it possible for Rey Mysterio to shave his head in the first place – The Second City Saint’s devotion to the Straight Edge lifestyle may be all the strength he needs to come out on top.

With The Deadman out of action, Mysterio rose to the challenge, winning a special SmackDown Battle Royal to capture The Phenom’s place. The Ultimate Underdog’s greatest strength has always been his tremendous heart, an unshakable characteristic that has allowed him to overcome amazing odds time and time again. He possesses a feverish arsenal of maneuvers and an athletic ability second to none. But, whether The Ultimate Underdog can overcome the ultimate challenge to once again capture the World Title remains to be seen.

Who will emerge from WWE Fatal 4-Way with the World Heavyweight Championship? Will Kane follow through on his fatal promise?

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre

At Fatal 4-Way, Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre will battle to determine once-and-for-all who has the right the wear the illustrious title around his waist.

The fury between the two intense Superstars began after McIntyre’s brutal attack on Matt Hardy provoked SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long to strip him of his title and fire him. One week later, it was Kingston who overcame Christian to capture the vacant title in a hard-fought Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

But, Kofi’s celebration was cut short when McIntyre hand-delivered a letter from Mr. McMahon, reinstating him to the roster and giving him back his title. Kofi eventually went on to officially capture the championship at Over the Limit against McIntyre. However, when the Scottish Superstar invoked his rematch clause the following week, a disruption involving Matt Hardy led to more than a victory for Kofi. It also prevented closure in the highly volatile conflict.

Two days before Fatal 4-Way, a combination of cruelty and unlimited backing from WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon freed McIntyre to utterly humiliate Teddy Long. With no fear of reprisal – armed with his own private security force – McIntyre then carried out a vicious onslaught on both Kofi Kingston and Matt Hardy. Could the “Chosen One” could use similar methods in order to tip the scales in his favor when he tries to recapture his title?

Kingston’s style and unique in-ring electricity have set him apart from the pack. His high-flying, high-impact offense, mixed with a charismatic personality, has brought him tremendous accomplishment and the love of the WWE Universe. But, will he ultimately triumph over the ruthless McIntyre?

Anointed by Mr. McMahon himself, Drew McIntyre intends to confirm every bit of the faith that the WWE Chairman has bestowed upon him. From the first night he stepped in the ring, the “Chosen One” has turned Friday nights upside down, using his tremendous skill and merciless tactics to plow down anyone who gets in his way. McIntyre is hell-bent on using every bit of his ruthless aggression to reclaim the title and reassert himself as one of the top Superstars on SmackDown.

Both Kingston and McIntyre head to Fatal 4-Way, determined to prove that they are the best. But who will prove it by walking out of the bedlam with the storied title in their grasp?

U.S. Champion The Miz vs. R-Truth

Just days before the inaugural Fatal 4-Way pay-per-view, The Miz snatched away the United States Championship from R-Truth in a Fatal 4-Way Match on Raw, which included Zack Ryder and John Morrison. The victory began Miz’s second reign as United States Champion. (PHOTOS)

Undaunted by his loss, on that same night, Truth quickly invoked his rematch clause to try to regain the coveted title he held for just a few short weeks.

The raging rapper first seized the opportunity of a lifetime when WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart abdicated the U.S. Title to assume the hefty role of Raw General Manager. The “Hit Man” made it his priority to determine the new, undisputed bearer of the championship. The Excellence of Execution selected Truth to compete in a high stakes bout with Miz (whom Hart himself defeated to commence his brief yet momentous reign). One Lie Detector and pinfall later, “what’s up” was R-Truth’s arm, raised high in celebration as he snared the greatest accolade of his career.

Granted Miz’s most recent win against Truth came in a bout involving multiple Superstars, he’ll most likely tell you that holding the prestigious title is all that matters.

This Sunday, they’ll go one-on-one to even the score in their third encounter. Who will leave Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum proudly toting the United States Championship?

Divas Championship Fatal 4-Way Match

When Eve, Gail Kim, Maryse and Alicia Fox get together at Fatal 4-Way this Sunday, the sexy, smart and powerful women will be kicking, hitting and battling it out like brides-to-be at a wedding dress clearance sale. The big prize, however, isn’t a bronzed groom, it’s a golden butterfly – the Divas Title.

While Eve currently reigns as Divas Champion, her nagging nemesis, Maryse, has been pining for the title ever since the two separated in February. During the Viewer’s Choice Diva Battle Royal, the conceited Canadian sharpened her attack against Eve by enlisting the help of Jillian. After punishing the current Divas Champion, the Monday Night Mean Girl heaved her from the ring – along with Jillian – to prevail and send a clear message: She wants to reconcile with the Butterfly Title.

For their part, Kim – herself a former Women’s Champion – and Fox seem to have grown tired of playing the part of bridesmaid. While each has provided a strong tag team partner for Eve and Maryse, respectively, they both now appear eager to take center stage and walk down the aisle with a victory.
